Camouflage by Microskin™ is applied to the skin in liquid form. As the delivery agents rapidly evaporate, they leave behind a water-resistant film that suspends mineral pigments to match skin tone colors on the skin's surface. This creates a finish that looks and feels like your natural skin. During the evaporation phase, the cellulosic and oil components migrate toward the skin's surface and partially enter the stratum corneum layer. This assists in binding the dried film to the skin's surface and provides significant elasticity to the film. When the Microskin™ film is removed using the Removing Serum, the cellulosic and oil-bound corneum cells are exfoliated along with the removed film. Technically, any ingredients that remain on the surface of the skin or in the corneum layer are referred to as having "penetrated." However, they are not considered to have entered the capillary system and are, therefore, not classified as being "absorbed." Microskin™ is formulated with lipophilic (oil-based) ingredients, which have difficulty penetrating further into the corneum layer due to the lower epidermal layer's higher water concentration, which is lipophobic (oil-resistant). Since water and oil do not mix, the concentration of ingredients in the Microskin™ film is carefully balanced to allow sufficient penetration to firmly adhere the film to the skin without enabling high penetration into the corneum layer. This precise balance also provides elasticity to the dried film, ensuring its lasting properties. To prevent the complete blockage of sweat glands and hair follicles, the ingredient balance is meticulously adjusted to allow the skin to "breathe" and perspiration to pass through the water-resistant film. When we say Microskin™ allows the skin to breathe, it does not mean that the skin itself breathes; the human respiratory system does not include the skin. Instead, Microskin™ creates microscopic vents during the evaporation of its delivery agent, allowing air and oxygen to reach the skin. Oxygen exposure is vital for maintaining healthy skin. Additionally, Microskin™ allows perspiration to pass through the film and does not obstruct hair growth. Facial hair continues to grow, so male users may need to shave. However, Microskin™'s highly resistant and elastic properties enable careful shaving without damaging the film. When the body sweats, it is normal to observe beads of perspiration forming on the Microskin™ film's surface. Sweat does not harm or damage the film. When a spray tan is applied, it places an artificial color over your skin, which can interfere with our equipment that reads your skin tone. This will result in an incorrect reading, causing a mismatch between the Microskin™ color and your actual skin tone.
